Hello Hornets!

The mission of Julia Green Elementary School is to create a foundation that encourages compassion, tolerance, integrity and a commitment to learning.

As an inclusive school, we focus on the whole child, including his or her academic, social and emotional needs.

As an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme School, one of only a few in the district, we encourage learning through inquiry and intercultural understanding. In addition to participating in the IB program, all of our students take Chinese in K-5.

Julia Green students develop a lifelong love of learning through engaging classroom work, as well as a multitude of extracurricular activities and special events. One of our favorites is the Read-a-Thon fundraiser. During this time, students work hard and read wherever they go. Parents participate by reading to their younger children, counting book credits or volunteering when special guest speakers come to the school to read. When they come back to visit, Julia Green alumnae still talk about how many books they read during Read-a-Thon.

The rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) develops inquisitive, knowledgeable, caring students who want to help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. MNPS offers IB options in two elementary schools and several middle and high schools.

Primary Years Programme for Grades Pre-K to 5

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child.
